April 24 Prayer

Regions/UUPGs: We pray for the woman in Medenine who wants to read the Bible. May the eyes of her heart be opened to see that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

Petition from a Tunisian Believer: I am 14 years old. My siblings told me about Jesus, and I believed. I want to share with my friends, but I am afraid. Pray for me.

Pray Hebrews 11 for Tunisia: “By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was in the act of offering up his only son, of whom it was said, “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” (Hebrews 11:17-18) Lord, may Tunisians be like Abraham, exhibiting radical, immediate, and costly obedience. ”

Petition Against Spiritual Barriers: A Christian tells the story of when his mother was trying to have a child. She was barren for many years. In Tunisian society, barrenness is seen with shame. She made a vow to a dead Islamic saint that if she could have a child, then she would sacrifice an animal. She had a dream in which she was told that she would have a child and she was given a specific name for the child. She had a boy. For nine more years, she tried to have a child but couldn’t. She went to a woman who gave her herbs and prayed to a saint. Soon after she had another child. This is a common practice in Tunisia and many children are dedicated to spirits and saints even before they are born. Pray for freedom from the spiritual bondage of these promises and covenants.

Praise the One True God: The LORD alone is Lover. You love all that You made — the heavens, the earth, and all the nations. (Psalm 145:13) “Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures throughout all generations.”
