May 7 Prayer

Regions/UUPGs: Thank you for the Tunisian believer who expressed a desire to take the Gospel to the Amazigh of Djerba. We pray for him to clearly hear Your Spirit’s leading and that You would raise up dozens of others like him — willing to go to other parts of the country to share the Good News.

Petition from a Tunisian Believer: I have been a Christian for about six months now. I came to faith through reading the Bible. In fact, God’s Word affected me so much, I tried to find a way to get three more copies of the Injil to give to my friends. Pray for me to grow in learning how to share my story of faith and God’s story of salvation with others.

Pray Hebrews 11 for Tunisia: “And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon…” (Hebrews 11:32-35a) Gideon allowed God to dwindle an army of more than 30,000 to 300 so that God would receive all of the glory for the victory. Raise up leaders like Gideon in Tunisia, men and women who will have more confidence in God than in their resources.

Petition Against Spiritual Barriers: Each Friday, many women prepare incense, make couscous, and clean their houses. This is an effort to get rid of evil spirits, purify, and invite good spirits into their homes. In the Bible we see that the prayers of God’s people are like incense to the Lord (Ps. 141:2). Today, this Friday, as believers we pray that our prayers will be a pleasing aroma to the Lord and that Tunisians all over the country will worship the true God with their prayers and hearts.

Praise the One True God: The LORD alone is Judge. You call the heavens, the earth, and all the nations to account. (Romans 14:9-12) “For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; for it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess[a] to God.”So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.”
