May 10 Prayer

Regions/UUPGs: Lord, thank You for the man from the Amazigh of Matmata who has heard the Gospel and has a copy of the New Testament. Open his eyes to see that the answer to all of his questions is found in Christ crucified, buried, and resurrected. Please lead him to faith in you.

Petition from a Tunisian Believer: I am a Christian from the north. I have followed Christ for many years, but almost all of it has been by myself without any consistent Christian fellowship. Pray for God to lead me to neighbors, coworkers, or family members who are open to discovering the Bible. Pray that I could host a simple church in my home that would be a light in a dark place in my small village.

Pray Hebrews 11 for Tunisia: “Some were tortured, refusing to accept release so that they might rise again to a better life. Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword.” (Hebrews 11:35b-37) Give all believers in Tunisia perseverance in the face of persecution. Comfort them by the great cloud of witnesses that have gone before them, witnesses like those described in these verses.

Petition Against Spiritual Barriers: For generations, Tunisian parents have passed down the religion of Islam and beliefs about spirits and saints to their children. The children are told that to doubt is a sin and will send them to hell. Therefore, generations are locked into a false belief system. Even the most educated, often refuse to critically think when it comes to religion. Pray that this generation will seek God and Truth and that many generations after them will continue to benefit from their decision. Deuteronomy 7:9 says, “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.”

Praise the One True God: The LORD alone is Lover. You love all that You made — the heavens, the earth, and all the nations. (Psalm 145:17) “The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and kind in all his works.”
